- Machine Design (Involves design of machine elements)
- Thermal Engineering (Involves thermal interactions between systems)
- Manufacturing Science (Involves manufacturing of machine elements)
- Other (Includes Industrial engineering and related matters)
Availability of resources:
You need to make sure about what resources are available with you or with your college/department and what is to be needed for your project work. What are the software skills, and the material needed? It would help if you had a habit of reading books related to your subject area. One should also read technical books to sharpen your basics which will help in project work.

You can make project which is related to
1. Flow(Fuel+air or exhaust gas) analysis for IC engine or
2. FEA analysis of connecting rod, piston. Or
3. Design of suspension for automobile.
4. You can prepare test rig for automobile as secondary standard.

1. First decide in which area you are preferring for project work? is it heat exchanger, boiler, economizer, heat transfer coefficient, energy etc.
2. Once you determine the specialization, you can search for the research paper on sciencedirect and get the papers related to your area.
3. Do literature review and decide what is left by researchers.

There is nothing like so and so project will help you in cement industry. I have worked as GET for one year in Saurashtra Cement Ltd. There no criteria about project. You just need to clear your basics!! Nothing else. Everything will follow on its own!

There are no hard and fast rule that if you do so and so project you will get cement industry! It does not matter which project you taken in your graduation. Only knowledge about your project is really matter. You should choose those topics in which you are having interest and have scope for further study or research or any job. You can do your project in cement industry by permission of your head of dept. You can do it.

Cement industry falls in category of process industry type. You cannot do much related manufacturing and production related work in cement industry. Rather you can do energy audit related projects in such type of process industry which could help them identify the probable energy saving ideas on a particular field.
