Most mechanical engineering students preparing for higher studies or jobs ask one common question, Which subjects are the most important subjects in mechanical engineering? The mechanical curriculum or by the way any engineering stream/branch curriculum contains many subjects spanning from the first year to the final year. The first year contains common bridge subjects while … Read more
Appearing for the Mechanical engineering interview is a important event for any mechanical engineering graduate. Each and every interview starts with a question from the chairman of the interview. He normally asks the candidate to say a few words about family and educational background. Normally he asks or starts the interview by asking, ‘Tell me … Read more
The nature and analysis of flow depend on the thermophysical properties such as the viscosity of the fluid being considered. There are various methods for the determination of fluid viscosity, namely the capillary tube method, falling sphere method, rotating cylinder method, or Redwood viscometer. Viscosity measurement is important for a wide range of applications in … Read more
Understanding heat transfer dynamics is important in engineering, it influences the design and operation of various systems. In this blog post, we’ll delve into two fundamental concepts: steady-state and transient heat transfer. We’ll explore their definitions, mathematical representations, practical applications, and crucial differences, and their significance in engineering design and problem-solving. Whether you’re a student, … Read more
Any refrigeration device’s performance is measured in terms of its cooling capacity or refrigeration capacity in kW or Ton. There are many terms available to call the capacity of refrigeration systems such as cooling capacity, refrigeration capacity, refrigeration power, or cooling power or refrigeration effect. What is the cooling capacity or refrigeration capacity or refrigeration … Read more
Have you ever wondered, Why capacity units of the domestic refrigerator and Air Conditioner (AC) are different though both are refrigeration systems? What is the basic difference between them with respect to the cooling capacity? The capacity of the domestic refrigerator is normally rated in ‘Litre’. A liter is actually a unit of volume and … Read more
This video shows how an anemometer measures air velocity. This anemometer is of analog meter which gives the total linear distance that the rotor moves during a prescribed amount of time. One needs to see the pointer movement and have to record the time. The division of linear movement of air and time gives the … Read more
Choosing the right kind of industry for a mechanical engineering internship is an important decision. Undergraduate studies in mechanical engineering contain the internship as a part of the curriculum. The sole purpose of this internship is to get an experience of witnessing the real-life applications of the theories being taught each semester. When it comes … Read more
